Brief Description:

This collection documents the activities and programs of the Center for Regional Agriculture, Foodways, and Transformation (CRAFT) at Chatham University.  These documents include digital oral history recordings created as part of the “Babka and Beyond” and the “`Buckwheat’ County: The Agricultural History from Seed to Mill” and accompanying interview documentation such as release forms, interview transcripts, biographical information, interview summaries, and other administrative records created between 2017 and 2020.  Oral history recordings describe the lives and experiences of bread makers and grain producers in the Western Pennsylvania region. 

The collection also includes data sets created as part of CRAFT’s Regional Food System Data project and the project’s final report dated between 2018 and 2019.

The collection does not contain documentation of CRAFT’s community events or the Food and Agriculture Innovation Lab.

Arrangement:

The collection is arranged in two series, based on the project types and their function within the CRAFT administrative structure.  Series 1 has been further arranged into two subseries.  The contents of each series and subseries are arranged chronologically in order of their initiation by CRAFT. Within each sub-series, the documents are arranged in their original order.
