Name: Virginia Sager (1986)

Historical Note: Virginia Ann Sager attended the Pennsylvania College for Women from 1944 – 1948 as a day student. She was the first woman in her family to receive a college education. Sager married Charles Edward Peterson around 1949. Virginia and Charles then had a daughter Joanne, who also attended Chatham as a Gateway Student, graduating in 1986. In 2016 Joanne Peterson, a member of Chatham’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship, received the Chatham University Cornerstone Award in Information Technology for her success in the field.
